Let It Snow

Let It Snow

Today I worked on Let it Snow by Ursula Michael. This is another one I usually reserve for the Christmas season but I decided to incorporate it into my rotation and I am glad that I did. It was fun to work on it again. I am really glad that I am doing the rotation because it forces me to work on things that I normally push aside in light of my preferred projects. This is one such project. Today I worked on the mittens on the left side. I am quite proud of the progress that I made. Here is a picture of my progress thus far:

In this project, I do one item at a time and then I do the backstitching on that item. This lessons how demanding the backstitching is at the end of a project.

The next project I will be working on is Mother and Child by Bucilla. I might not get to this for a couple days because on Friday I have a test for a job and I will probably spend tomorrow studying for it.

Christmas Countdown

Christmas Countdown

Yesterday I worked on Christmas Countdown by Dimensions. I have been working on this one off and on for approximately 4 years. I usually only work on it during the Christmas season but I decided that since I only have the back stitching and the ornaments left to do, I want to have it finished by December so that I can use it next Christmas. I am so excited. I have a feeling that the backstitching is going to take forever to do, however. Here is a picture of where I am at thus far:

Today I am working on Let it Snow by Ursula Michael. It is another Christmas one and I added it to my rotation so that I can have it for next Christmas as well.

Woodland Enchantress

Woodland Enchantress Update #1

Today I worked on Woodland Enchantress by Dimensions. This is one I am making for my best friend as a graduation present. She graduates in a year so I have a lot of work to do! I managed to get in approximately 500-600 stitches today, which for me is pretty good.  Here is what it should look like when all is said and done:

And here is what I have gotten done thus far. It always looks like more until I look at the picture of what it is meant to look like in the end. Oh, well. Lots of work to do!

Up next is Christmas Countdown by Dimensions. I am working on the backstitching now and have finished the main part of the Cross Stitch. I also still have to do the ornaments that go with it. I hope to have it done by December so I can use it for Christmas.

Little Sport

Little Sport Update #1

Today I stitched on Little Sport by Dimension, which is a birth announcement for a little boy. In December, one of my good friends had a baby and so I volunteered to stitch her a birth announcement. I won’t see her until July so I have time to finish it. I have already finished 2 of the 4 boxes. The bottom two are bigger, though, and so I know those will take longer, and I still have the center part to do. Anyway, today I only got the basketball finished. Here is a picture of my progress thus far:

Next I will work on Woodland Enchantress from Dimensions.

Passion Flower Angel

Passion Flower Angel Update 1

Today I worked on Passion Flower Angel by Dimension. This is one that I am making for my youngest sister. She is nine right now, but will probably be closer to 13 when I finish this. I love how beautiful this stitch is, but  there are some stitches on it that I don’t know how to do and need to learn.

I am glad that I decided to try stitching rotations because otherwise it might have been a long time before I pulled this one out again.

Here is what it should look like in the end:

And here is where I finished tonight:

I hope that next time I pull this one out (in a couple of weeks) I will be able to finish the bottom left corner. Then I will be about 1/4 done with the stitching… I feel like with this one, the back stitching will take forever. I despise back stitching!

Anyway, this one is going away and the next one I will stitch on is Little Sport Baby Announcement, by Dimensions.

Angel Stocking

HAED Stocking Update #2

Today I worked on my Heaven and Earth Design Angel, Lion and Lamb Stocking. There is so much confetti work on it that I only got about 200 stitches done, despite working on it for HOURS. I hate confetti stitching. But I think that it looks pretty good. So here comes the pictures:

What it will look like:

The BEFORE I started stitching:

And the AFTER picture of when I finished stitching today:

I like that you can actually see that it is her hair. I think that her hair looks pretty great, even if I do say so myself. Anyway, next up is Dimensions Passion Flower Angel.

First Love

Dimensions First Love Record

Today I worked on First Love by Dimensions. This is a packaged kit that I have had for about four years or so. I was originally cross stitching it for my sister who was on the brink of getting engaged. When things went down hill and they broke up I put this away because the sight of it brought up too many painful memories for her. She has now moved on with her life and asked me if I am going to continue it so I pulled it out to work on it again.

I worked on it for approximately 8 hours while watching tv and doing some other things. I am proud of the progress I made and I can’t wait to see the final end product. I wish that the picture was better quality but since I don’t have a camera, I had to take the picture with my phone =(

I have just started a rotation where I will work on each project for however much I cross stitch that day. It won’t be a daily thing because I know I don’t stitch that much, but it will essentially be like “the next time I cross stitch, this is what it will be” type of thing. So next up on my rotation is my Heaven and Earth Design project, the Angel, Lion, and Lamb stocking. It is beautiful and I can’t wait to have it finished for I can use it…
